Sydney
by Sail has the best location in Sydney – at the National
Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour. We also have a base at Cockle Bay,
making it easy to come on board and set sail on Sydney Harbour –
or Port Jackson as it is officially known. The
team at Sydney by Sail is extremely experienced, highly professional
and very friendly – ensuring your sailing experience is something
special. The crew is headed up by principle - Matt
Hayes, who represented Australia in the Soling class yacht at the
Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996. Matt is ably assisted by Edward
Penn.
Sydney by Sail offers a range of sailing experiences – including
corporate
sailing, yacht
charter, learn
to sail courses and leisure activities. Ranging from three-hour
sails to overnight
stays. Our
fleet, the fleet at Sydney by Sail, is the newest in Sydney. We
have a fleet of Hunter
yachts, including the Hunter
33, the Hunter
38, and the Hunter
44. The Hunter yachts are innovative and luxurious, with comfortable
cabins, well-planned galleys and are easy to sail. There is an opportunity
to invest in our fleet through shared ownership. Call us on (02) 9280

Learn
to Sail courses. Sydney by Sail is a fully accredited sailing school,
conducting learn to sail courses from beginners up to advanced levels.
Beginners start with the
Introductory (Level One) course, moving up to Competent
Crew (Level 2), the one-day
Spinnaker Course (Level 3) and the (Level
4) Skipper course, which is for anyone striving to reach the level
of captain, or helmsman. We also conduct a Bareboat
Charter course, for anyone planning to charter
a yacht in the aquatic playgrounds of the world. We offer the Competent
Crew package – covering levels 1 and 2, and the Skipper
Course Package – which takes participants all the way through
from Beginner
level to Inshore
Skipper. For an added bit of fun and adventure, we take part in twilight
racing, in summer, and the winter racing series. This really is heart
in the mouth hands-on action, certain to lift your adrenaline level.
Yacht
charter. You can charter any or all of our yachts for full or half-day
charters to explore the many delights of Sydney Harbour. You can choose
a skippered
charter – where we provide a skipper for you, or a bareboat charter
– where you take the yacht out yourself – but only if you
have the necessary experience. You’ll find all the charter
rates for shoulder and peak
season on this website. We also offer charters for some of the year’s
biggest events, including New
Year’s Eve, Boxing
Day and Australia
Day. Look at the rates for these special charters on this website.
In
our Leisure and social sailing, we have a full range of sailing activities
perfect for everyone from overseas visitors to locals looking for something
special on the water.
Our
Port
Jackson Explorer scheduled daily sailing trips are a great option
for people with limited time. These three-hour sails take you under the
Sydney Harbour Bridge and past the iconic Sydney Opera House on one of
our luxury Hunter
yachts. You can sit back and enjoy the view or become part of the
crew triming the sails and taking the helm. For a romantic
night with a difference, choose our BnB on Sea overnight luxury package,
where you and your loved one will be taken out on Sydney Harbour on one
of our stunning luxury yachts and will drop anchor in a secluded cove.
The skipper will say goodnight and leave you with a gourmet
meal, a bottle of champagne and a jaw-dropping view over the city
skyline. You can enjoy a night of romance on the water, and, after he
comes to pick you up in the morning, you will enjoy a huge breakfast at
Cockle Bay. We have plenty of fantastic
feedback from former BnB clients on the website.
